I create a lot of content. A lot. 52 video sales tips, 52 blogs, and 12 columns for Printing Impressions - that's a lot of yapping.
What I find interesting from this end of the keyboard is what gets the eyeballs and what gets passed over. It’s not unusual that something that I think is a great topic is received with a yawn (as judged by the number of clicks) and what I think of as “soft” or sometimes not my favorite topic can have twice as many views.
Go figure.
For example, if I go all the way back to May 1, here are the top three video sales tips:
I can only surmise that the same number of people watch these videos week in and week out but if it’s a subject that they find of interest, they share it and that’s why these three had the numbers that they did versus the others.
It helps me a great deal to know where your head is at and the kind of thing you are looking for. Very often I will ask people what they want to read or, more importantly to my wallet, what kind of sales training program they want and when the answer comes back, “I don’t know what it looks like, Bill, but I’ll know it when I see it,” I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
For the year, the number one “Best Selling” video was called The Four Key Sales Fundamentals. What that tells me is that you still have a thirst for understanding why you’re not selling more. I will keep writing and recording to that subject.
