Many people waste a lot of time carrying out the wrong activity on LinkedIn
Here’s a quick overview of what I do when I log into LinkedIn.
Firstly, I check who has viewed my profile (by the way you need the right profile settings to maximize what you see). I always reach out to these people, whether I am connected or not.
Then I check my network notifications, whom LinkedIn is suggesting I connect with, my messages and my notifications. My notifications ensure I see who has commented on my posts, who has mentioned me and who is changing jobs.
Finally, I scroll through my home feed and I engage! I enjoy seeing what my network is up to. And it’s important to communicate with them. This isn’t from a sales point of view but it does keep me front of mind for active connections.
This takes a few minutes
The idea that you have to spend hours slaving over LinkedIn is wrong! I check in two or three times a week with this activity. I never set aside much time for it, even though I have a large, active network.
