Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. paid its president and CEO $6.1 million last year, 12 percent less than 2010. Thomas J. Quinlan’s annual compensation package included salary, which remained at $1 million; bonuses; stock awards; and retirement plan contributions. The figure fell partly because his cash awards were cut by more than half to $816,000.
R.R. Donnelley has sought to adapt itself to an increasingly digital world in the last eight years. As part of that reorganization, it laid off 2,899 workers in 2011.
Last year, R.R. Donnelley posted loses of $121.1 million…on sales of $10.6 billion.
