Eric Hawkinson on Canon's Surprise at drupa: Voyager Prototype Inkjet Press
Deborah Corn, PI blogger, principal and chief blogger to The Printerverse for Print Media Centr, and print production and integrated project manager, caught up with Eric Hawkinson, senior director, marketing, Production Print Solutions, Canon Solutions America, who discussed some of the highlights at the Canon Solutions America booth at drupa 2016.
According to Hawkinson, the undisputed talk of the show was a surprise product that Canon showcased in its booth — code name Voyager, a prototype inkjet press. Canon expects Voyager to be of interest to print service providers producing high added-value applications, such as catalogs, brochures, marketing materials, and customer publications where the quality of image reproduction is paramount. Hawkinson adds that this inkjet photo press could be a game changer for the company.
