Dozens of workers in Burlington County (N.J.) are scrambling to hand count paper mail-in ballots there after a printing error rendered them unscannable, likely delaying the tally of election results, the chair of the county election board said.
At 6 a.m., workers began attempting to scan the mail-in ballots the county had received; they quickly discovered the printing error — missing barcodes — that makes them unreadable by the county’s machines.
