The classic rock station can barely be heard above the roaring of the machine, but Bad Company’s “Feel Like Making Love” plays on. It's midnight, and the pressmen are hard at work making sure every page of the Lincoln Journal Star is perfectly printed. Some of them sing along under their breath.
Then the pages starts spitting out, blank at first, then slowly darker and darker as the ink begins to stick.
“I’m going to put a little more yellow on that front page,” Supervisor Chris Lenhoff tells his crew, eyeing an early copy.
Pressman Tobias McKeith takes note as he stands at the control computer and thumbs through random copies of the paper.
