Spokesperson: Quad's Effingham, Illinois, Facility Not Affected by Cost Reductions

Wisconsin-based Quad/Graphics Inc. said this week that its drastic cost reductions include closing two plants—but the Effingham, Illinois, site is not one of them.

Claire Ho, director of corporate communications, said the company will close plants in East Greenville, Pennsylvania and Augusta, Georgia, by the end of the year. Those plans will not affect the Effingham plant at 420 Industrial Ave., she confirmed Thursday.

"This is a strategic business decision as we continue to consolidate work onto the most efficient platforms in our nationwide network," Ho said in an email.
