One of the longest strikes in Decatur (IL) history ended Friday with no settlement between printing company Huston Patterson and its production workers. The workers decided to end the strike after coming to the realization the situation was not going to change, said Bob Miller, secretary-treasurer for District Council 4 of the Graphic Communications Conference International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
The strike ended 15 months after it started in June 2010 when 38 workers walked off the job in a contract dispute. Between 15 and 20 of them remained on the picket line but have decided to focus on their future elsewhere.
