But all is not lost. We can learn from the mistakes made in 2013 and vow not to repeat them in 2014. Don't let this death be in vain. Start by taking the following oath:

"I promise to commit to the creation and execution of a sales and marketing plan for 2014. I vow to carefully consider where I want to be one year from now in terms of sales volume and capabilities. I will budget money for marketing not just my company as a whole, but individual salespeople. I will finally heed the advice of my children and see what social media can do to help.
