Located in this hamlet about 50 miles from downtown Manhattan, Sterling Digital Print is a relative newcomer to the graphic arts industry, celebrating 11 years in business. But its management team boasts decades of experiences, led by industry veteran Ed McAlister, who provides 20 years of in-the-trenches print production and customer relationship-building experience.
In its 40,000-sq.-ft. facility, which operates 24 hours a day, seven days week, Sterling Digital Print offers a broad swatch of services for the financial and broader manufacturing, distribution, retail, institutional and nonprofit sectors, using offset, HP Indigo digital, and Canon varioPRINT presses.
Its range of end-to-end printing and print management services includes digital printing, which encompasses variable data printing and print-on-demand; financial and offset printing; UV coating; binding and finishing; and mailing and fulfillment.
Sterling’s digital printers allow the company to deliver fast turnaround on short runs, a much in demand service for New York’s financial and business communities. Being so close to the Big Apple allows it to deliver jobs for longstanding clients into Manhattan overnight, if necessary.
Its financial printing capabilities are used to meet exacting content and scheduling specifications for general communication materials, as well as research reports, annual reports, proxy statements, prospectuses, shareholder letters, 10-K reports, information memorandums or PPM, M&A transaction communications, and reports and accounts.
McAllister attributes the company’s stellar performance to a variety of factors. First, it acquired and absorbed two smaller printers within a two-year period. But equally significant is the shop’s commitment to service and its 24/7 print operation, which allows it to meet customers demand for quick-turnaround, print-on-demand services. Sterling has a well-rounded equipment mix, with digital printing, sheetfed and, now, mailing capabilities.
“We are just good at what we do,” McAllister says. “We care about and always try and work with our clients, even when things don’t go as planned. This has translated into more business via word-of-mouth.”
