KENNESAW, Ga. — March 17, 2016 — Nearly a year after the installation of a Speedmaster XL 75-5+L Anicolor, 4 Color Press (4CP) has seen significant increases across its business. 4CP mastered the delivery of four-color, coated offset printing in an extremely short-run environment with its smaller Speedmaster SM 52-4+L Anicolor and made the decision to increase format size with the new machine.
"We routinely have people who want projects [at the] last minute; to be able to have very short makeready times, very little waste and the ability to create a high-end, quality product in the least amount of time is what has given us the success that we've had, says Andrew Fuld, co-owner/plant manager.
Perfect Production
"The efficiency has gone way up," says Geno Ingrum, production manager. "We’ve improved approximately 26% in our makeready times, and our run speeds have picked up almost 40%."
The Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor delivers high print quality at maximum production speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour. The Anicolor inking unit provides easy operation without tedious ink adjustments — allowing for quick and even inking.
According to Ingrum, turnaround times have also improved significantly. "We were looking at about a seven- to 10-day [turnaround], but now [with the new press] we’re closer to a three- to five-day turnaround, which makes our customers happy and allows us to get more jobs through the shop."
Giving Clients What They Want
Anicolor technology lowers the costs for short run printing and ensures top offset quality, making it an ideal solution for standardized printing. The Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor combines up to 90 percent paper savings with a short, 1:1 anilox ink train that brings the press to color in as few as 20 sheets.
"We compete in run-lengths down to 50 press sheets," Fuld explains. "We have customers who bypass the digital opportunity to be able to have an offset sheet. For us to have the tool to give them what they truly want is what Anicolor has delivered."
An Anicolor Story
As an early adopter of the technology, Lisa and Andrew Fuld describe Anicolor as "a reason for us to invent our business." The Fort Worth printer initially installed a Speedmaster SM 52 Anicolor in 2007. After charting more than 103 million impressions in seven years, the Fulds were looking for the next solution that would increase capacity, boost productivity and drive profitability without compromising the quality that Anicolor technology provides.
"The driving point hit me when I was on a sales call, and the conversation included the color consistency and what Anicolor truly does for you versus what a traditional inking system does," relays Lisa Fuld, president. "That gave [the company] a reason to want to talk to us, quote some projects and begin a relationship. It hit home to me because I realized that this is our story — this is what really differentiates us from everybody else in the market place.”
Under the motto "Live Happy, Print Happy," 4 Color Press strives to exceed customer expectations by providing a high level of personal service. With a focus on quality results, state-of-the-art technology and exceptional color, 4CP ensures that a print job is delivered exactly the way you want it.
