Good morning!
So, this is that funky week on the sales calendar I was talking about a few sales tips ago. In the U.S., a Thursday holiday and Friday day off make for a short and unusual opportunity to sharpen the sales saw. I wanted to make certain you were making the most of this opportunity.
First, don’t make assumptions that no one wants to hear from you this week. Diligence is a great differentiator. If everyone else is going left, go right. If everyone else assumes no one wants to hear from you today, make some calls. As the saying goes, you miss 100% of the shots you never take.
Next, take a look back. Go through old emails and look for lost opportunities. There are pearls inside some of those email oysters. Crack them open and take another look.
Third, increase your efficiency. Watch some YouTube videos to learn more about how to use social media tools like LinkedIn. Check for tutorials or instructions on the capabilities of your CRM. Learn more about a particular product line you offer but don’t truly understand.
Fourth, gather leads. This is the perfect time to find attractive prospects. Hit the library and ask a reference librarian for help. They went to school to figure out how to find stuff. If you can accurately describe what you looking for, they will show you how to search.
Fifth, give thanks. If you did not take my advice to send out the Thanksgiving card instead of a Christmas card, pick up the phone make some calls to clients, wishing them health and happiness, safe travels, and a peaceful few days off.
Most of us, myself included, work well in a chaotic environment. We thrive on it, in fact. However, take away the urgency and we struggle mightily to stay efficient and feel as though we accomplish something. So, as we wait for the chaos to return, use these few days to get organized and prepared. What’s coming is a three-week sprint to the finish line of 2019.
