HP Reduces Omaha Workforce as Part of Restructuring

OMAHA, NE—HP has laid off roughly 100 employees in November as part of a corporate restructuring plan announced in May of 2012, according to the Omaha World-Herald. The workers were employed in the company's Personal and Printing Systems division.

Most of the impacted workers were offered the chance to relocate within HP.

Corporate CEO Meg Whitman announced in 2012 that HP would trim 27,000 jobs—8 percent of its total workforce—in an effort to save more than $3 billion.

The Personal and Printing Systems division supplies personal computing equipment, printing supplies and hardware. The division reported an 8 percent year-over-year revenue dip in the quarter ending July 31, the newspaper said.
