Pantone's mobile app, released last year, has just been updated with new features to celebrate the 2017 Color of the Year, Greenery.
Pantone Studio was created to inspire graphic designers, foster collaboration and enable users to manage color. It replaces MyPantone for iOS (the Android version is not yet available).
Ron Potesky, Pantone's senior VP and GM, says,
Recognizing the needs and opportunities for designers today, we created Pantone Studio to provide them their own private color studio – a place where they can explore, capture, create and share color inspiration with friends and colleagues.
For example, users can experiment with color palette combinations in the Studio by applying colors against different templates. They can also use the app's camera with adjustable color picker to pinpoint a specific set of Pantone colors from any image uploaded to the app.
For designers who love to share work on social media or send ideas to clients, the app provides a variety of formats for sharing colors and palettes, including via email with a customized message.
Although the app is free to download in the iTunes store, certain features — such as access to additional colors and tools — must be unlocked through paid subscriptions starting at $4.99 per month. Free weekly and monthly trials are available.
