ARIZONA

MESA—Hogue Printing has signed a deal with CRC Information Systems to implement THE System business management software, including the Commercial Estimating module. Hogue Printing, a 38-year-old family owned business, specializes in sheetfed printing, copying, design and packaging.

CALIFORNIA

PALM SPRINGS—The Desert Sun newspaper, a Gannett company, has purchased two KBA Colora Tower additions for upgrading and expanding printing and color capabilities for its existing Goss Headliner offset press.

SACRAMENTO—Fong & Fong Printers and Lithographers has integrated a Gerber Sector coating blanket cutter into its workflow, lowering costs and speeding production. The printer formerly outsourced its coating blankets, requiring a three day turnaround.

SAN FRANCISCO—Pacific Printing and Imaging Association and Printing Industries of Northern California have signed an agreement to share administrative services to save on overhead expenses and increase member programming. Both organizations will remain in their present locations and maintain separate boards and identities.

COLORADO

LAKEWOOD—Golden Printing is celebrating its 35th year in business. The company was actually started in 1959 by Bernard Naas. His youngest son George and his wife Dana turned the company into a commercial enterprise in 1968. George Naas says he plans to run the company until either he or his Heidelberg GTO 52 gives out.

FLORIDA

JACKSONVILLE—A two-color A.B.Dick QP25II press has replaced a Heidelberg Quickmaster at Best Choice Printing.

ILLINOIS

BROADVIEW—A five-color Komori Lithrone 28 is now in operation at Intel Printing.

CHICAGO—DigiSource International is now marketing all areas of facility management, including printing, copying, mail, fulfillment and document management services to its current base in Chicago and the Midwest.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE—Quality Color has purchased an eight-color Komori Lithrone 40 perfector equipped with a coating unit.

INDIANA

FORT WAYNE—Lincoln Printing has installed a new Muller Martini Minuteman 1509 saddle stitcher to enhance production of books and brochures.

KANSAS

LENEXA—Getz Color Graphics has increased its capabilities with the addition of a seven-color, 40˝ Mitsubishi sheetfed press. Disgraf Service completed the installation.

KENTUCKY

LOUISVILLE—Midland Communications Packaging, in conjunction with its strategic digital printing partner Max Print, recently held an open house for nearly 300 people to unveil a new corporate logo and showcase its newly renovated, 27,500-square-foot facility.

MICHIGAN

GRAND RAPIDS—B&J's Die Cutting has added a 14x22˝ Kluge EHD foil stamping, embossing and diecutting press. The company has been in business for 15 years, and does diecutting, embossing, foil stamping, perforating, folding and gluing.

TROY—Combining the growing trends of digital printing and online training, the Allegra Network recently launched "Profiting with Toner," the company's first online workshop. Allegra initiated the four-module training program so franchise owners, customer service representatives, account managers and outside salespeople can advise their customers about the advantages of toner-based printing.

MINNESOTA

MINNEAPOLIS—Process Displays Printing, a large-format sheetfed and screen printer, has placed an order for an eight-color, 64˝ KBA Rapida 162A UV press with a coater. It is expected to be delivered in December.

SAINT PAUL—Packaging company Trendex has signed a deal to implement THE System business management software from CRC Information Systems. Trendex will implement a fully integrated system, including estimating and scheduling modules.

NEW JERSEY

WEST CALDWELL—To diversify from the business forms industry and to enter the promotional products market, Cowdin Printing has introduced TeleBook, a custom telephone message book with marketing impact. TeleBook is part business form and part promotional product. The message pages are two-part snap sets printed on carbonless paper. They can be formatted three- or four-up, with the top sheet printed in four-color process to allow for an advertiser's graphics.

NEW YORK

NEW YORK CITY—Copytone Visual Communications, a 44-year-old family owned custom photo lab, digital imaging, prepress and printing company, has signed a 15-year lease at 8 West 38th Street. The move, which will give the company 50 percent more space, is scheduled for the end of the year. The company plans to hold an open house following the move.

OHIO

TIPP CITY—Repacorp Label Products, based here, has acquired Sierra Screen Printing (SSP), of Phoenix. SSP specializes in process screen printing, large-format digital printing, and truck and signage vinyl cut lettering.

WESTERVILLE—Robin Enterprises installed a factory-reconditioned Kluge folding and gluing system to enhance its diverse commercial printing operation. The company has been in business since 1967 and plans to use the Kluge system within its pocket folder manufacturing process.

PENNSYLVANIA

CLAYSBURG—NPC Inc. is expanding its saddle stitching capabilities with the installation of a Muller Martini Prima SB. The new addition is configured with six pockets, a cover folder feeder and an integrated ink-jet system. This new piece of equipment is part of an overall expansion of both its equipment and building.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT—Hilsher Graphics is running a new Presto saddle stitcher from Muller Martini.

PUERTO RICO

SAN JUAN—Ramallo Brothers Printing, a leading graphic arts production facility in the Caribbean, is creating more durable book signatures with a new InventaPlus sewing system from Muller Martini. The company provides a full range of services, ranging from high-volume directory production to high-end commercial printing.

TEXAS

CARROLLTON—Trend Offset Printing has installed a new Muller Martini Bravo S saddle stitcher in its Southwest Division plant. Located near Dallas, the 160,000-square-foot facility is designed as a one-stop printing, binding and mailing center.

HOUSTON—A six-color Komori Lithrone 40 is now running at ASAP Communications.

WISCONSIN

DELAVAN, WI—Advance Printing has purchased a Duplo System 4000 collator/bookletmaker from Best Graphics.
