SCOTTSDALE—Armed with a new Kodak Nexpress 2100 digital press and Kodak Nexglosser glossing unit, Sir Speedy Printing Scottsdale now can meet growing demand for short turnaround color printing and glossing. Since the installation a few months ago, the company reports it has gained new business from customers it previously could not service.

HARVEY—Andrews Printing has installed a four-color Printmaster PM 52 from Heidelberg. It replaces the shop's Printmaster GTO 52-2, which previously handled the shop's four-color jobs in two runs.
Schiller ParK—The Business Press, now in its 26th year in business, has replaced its four-color Heidelberg GTO with a new five-color Printmaster PM 52 perfector.

CRAWFORDSVILLE—The five-color KBA Genius 52 waterless UV press displayed at PRINT 05 was purchased by Crawford Industries, a provider of polyolefin-based (polyethylene and polypropylene) custom packaging and product integration services. The press was installed at the firm's plant immediately following the show.
INDIANAPOLIS—National Graphics has installed a six-color Komori Lithrone S40 press with coater.

SALINA—Consolidated Printing & Stationery has purchased a new 40˝ Mitsubishi Diamond 3000R convertible sheetfed perfector. Consolidated Printing configured the press for four-color straight printing or two-over-two perfecting.

COLUMBIA—Cadmus Communications has relocated its Linthicum, MD-based Content Services Operation to a new facility here. The 65,000-square-foot building offers improved meeting facilities for customers, a more organized work floor and space to accommodate future growth. The Columbia operation provides editorial services, content management and composition services to scholarly publishers.
ROCKVILLE—Atlantic Marketing Group, a provider of design, printing and mailing services, is now operating a new Rena Systems Imager III addressing system.

MADISON HEIGHTS—The EGT Group reports a $4 million expansion. It includes a 7,200-square-foot building, a new four-color, 40˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 102 press with in-line aqueous coating and perfecting capabilities, two Heidelberg Stahlfolders and a Konica Minolta bizhubpro 1050 laser printer.

JEFFERSON CITY—MAN Roland has rigged a new Uniset 75 web press for the News Tribune, a publisher of daily and weekly publications in Missouri's capital region. The press is the centerpiece of an all-new $14 million production facility.
KANSAS CITY—J-2 Printing has installed a new five-color Komori Lithrone 28 with coater.

EAST HAMPSTEAD—More than 50 people gathered at the Sheraton Hotel in Portsmouth recently for a special seminar about the benefits of direct mail marketing. Sponsored by RAM Printing, RAM Mailing Service and the U.S. Postal Service, the seminar was designed to help businesses gain some of the $528 billion Americans spend annually in response to direct mail advertising, while maintaining budgets and increasing returns on investment.

GARDEN CITY—Richner Communications has purchased a 10-unit DGM 430 coldset press with a DGM 1035 folder. In June of 2004, Richner suffered a fire that destroyed its headquarters and printing facility. The DGM press will be housed in its new, 90,000-square-foot headquarters.
NEW YORK CITY—At the fifth annual Graphic Communications Day (GCD), presented by the Association of Graphic Communications, keynote speaker Barry Meinerth, senior vice president of production, Time Inc., spoke about "Winning Strategies for Success." One topic he addressed was the critical need for publishers to reduce paper and printing waste, especially leftover newsstand copies. Held at Pier 90, GCD featured several educational sessions and approximately 70 exhibitors.
New York CITY—Advanced Business Group announced the acquisition of a new Heidelberg Printmaster Plus. This full-color press will serve two parallel business initiatives for the company: adapting to changing business demands and introducing the ability to provide more environmentally friendly printing products.

COLUMBUS—Vincentdirect has signed an agreement to implement The System business management software from CRC Information Systems. The direct marketing printer will use the commercial estimating, production scheduling, accounting, data collection, finished goods inventory and executive notification modules. The company provides design, production, mailing and management of marketing materials, as well as database management.
OREGON
PORTLAND—Stevens Printing recently installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster 52-5 perfector with axis control, prepress interface and aqueous coater. The company also added a cassette loader to automate plate loading for its Heidelberg Prosetter 52 violet platesetter. President Rich Stevens says he added this new technology to increase productivity, consistency and quality.

GREEN BAY—Mary Morgan Inc. has installed an Agfa Acento thermal platesetter with Sublima screening. This is the final step in the firm's prepress workflow process, and it will allow it to run chemical-free.
STEVENS POINT—The first 29˝ MAN Roland 500 perfector in North America is destined for Worzalla, a leading book manufacturer. The company will be printing and coating book covers and jackets on the five-color with UV double-coater press in its 300,000-square-foot facility beginning in April.
Sturtevant—The Garvey Group, a network of facilities providing integrated services for the design, printing, Internet applications and supply chain management of printed materials throughout the Midwest, announced that its location here will have additional capabilities to handle long-run, high-quality work after the installation early this year of a new 10-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 perfector with UV and hybrid ink capabilities. The press will also be equipped with roll-to-sheet and variable cutoff options.
