ANAHEIM—Expedia Media recently installed a Heidelberg Quicksetter 300E imagesetter. The shop purchased a Heidelberg consumables package with the installation, including Saphira RA imagesetting film and chemistry. Founded in 1984, the shop houses 70 employees.
SANTA CLARA—Mahoneyprint Services, a provider of 1-to-1 marketing services, is now doing business under the name The Mahoney Co. The name change signifies the completion of the transition from a print provider to a personalized digital marketing solutions provider with its Xerox iGen3 press. As part of the reorganization, The Mahoney Co. is now organized into five divisions.

BOULDER—Intermountain Color, also known as IMC Web Graphics, announced it has changed its name to Signature Offset. In addition to its new name, the company unveiled a new logo and corporate identity system, which will be in place at all of its seven printing facilities in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Mississippi.

Pompano Beach—Allegra Print & Imaging has installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 from Heidelberg to increase efficiency. Founded in 1994, the shop houses eight employees.
STUART—Blue Water Printing has created a splash by purchasing a Kodak NexPress digital press and by acquiring fellow Stuart-based shop Promise Printing. Blue Water is a subsidiary of Southeastern Printing.
GEORGIA
Lawrenceville—Network Communications has signed on the dotted line for a new four-unit Zirkon model 6720 press. This new design is a 35.5x26˝-wide machine. The press will be delivered in the fall of 2006.

WAUKEGAN—Two new presses were up and running just in time to mark the 35th anniversary of Lake County Press in September. A new NexPress 2100 plus digital press and an eight-color Heidelberg UV sheetfed offset press with fully interdecked curing capabilities are now in operation.

ROSELAND PARK—A new six-color Komori Lithrone 28 with coater was installed at Boelte-Hall Litho.

ANNAPOLIS—George Shenk, president of Whitmore Print & Imaging, announced the acquisition of the assets of Schneidereith & Sons, a 156-year-old offset printer. This is the second Baltimore-based, family-owned independent printer that Whitmore has acquired recently.

DUDLEY—Kerrin Graphics & Printing has installed a Presstek Dimension Excel 425 computer-to-plate system, also making the transition from film and subtractive plates to chemistry-free Anthem thermal plates.
NORWOOD—A new six-color Komori Lithrone S40 press with coater is now in operation at Millennium Graphics.

ANN ARBOR—Malloy Inc., a book manufacturer, has incorporated Screen's 16- and 32-up PlateRite Ultima 16000 and PlateRite Ultima 32000Z thermal platesetters into its prepress workflow.
DETROIT—Accuform Printing & Graphics upgraded its equipment with the recent installation of a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg. Founded in 1969, the family owned and operated shop houses 14 employees.
SALINE—McNaughton & Gunn has implemented a fully integrated software solution from CRC Information Systems, including the commercial estimating, production scheduling, automatic data collection, roll inventory, financial accounting and executive notification modules.

MINNEAPOLIS—Reflections has purchased an Akiyama 640 Bestech press with in-line coater, automated plate changers and CIP4 capabilities. The new machine is part of a $2.7 million expansion.

CARLSTADT—Superior Printing Ink completed the installation of its first Color Resource Center at Pictorial Offset Corp., located here. Pictorial's Color Resource Center, a sophisticated extension of the company's current in-plant ink facility installed by Superior several years ago, will provide an additional range of value-added services that Superior is offering under its Preflight to Profitability (P2P) program.
CLIFTON—Sandy Alexander Inc. has purchased and implemented Virtual Ticket from MetaCommunications. The printer uses Virtual Ticket for process-specific order entry, prepress project management, centralized electronic job tickets and production digital asset management.

CHARLOTTE—Integraphx is combining what it has learned about printing workflows and automation with e-commerce to develop a Website (mymagicmemories.com) to sell personalized calendars, greeting cards and other gifts using digital photos.

CLEVELAND—Watt Printers has acquired Mail Marketing Inc., a full-service commercial direct marketing company.

OKLAHOMA CITY—Impressions Printing has installed a four-color Heidelberg Printmaster PM 52 sheetfed press with perfector and a Prosetter 52. This shop is also using Saphira Violet aluminum plates, Saphira Violet Pro chemistry and proofing paper.

BENSALEM—Bradley Graphic Solutions, a business forms manufacturer, has signed an agreement to implement THE System business management software from CRC Information Systems.
YORK—Caskey Printing has installed a NexPress 2100 for digital production and a six-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74 for offset printing.
south carolina
COLUMBIA—Crowson Stone Printing has completed the first U.S. installation of Heidelberg's Prinect Plate-on-Demand and Prinect MiniSpot color workflow. It integrates the prepress system into the shop's pressroom and enables press operators to control plate production directly from the company's Speedmaster 102 press.
