PHOENIX—Heidelberg USA has installed its Prinect Prinance Print Management System at Steve Woods Printing. The Prinance package works seamlessly with another manufacturer's digital prepress system and a trio of large- and small-format presses, as well as with its Heidelberg/Polar 137 cutter, and TD66 and TD78 folders.

Los Angeles—Sinclair Printing, owned and operated for 75 years by the Sinclair family, has stepped up its booklet production by adding a new BravoPlus saddlestitching system from Muller Martini to its full-service bindery.
Roseville—Master Color is now running a two-color Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46. The new equipment is being used to produce stationery, brochures and newsletters. The general commercial print shop services graphic designers and customers in the healthcare, automobile and wine industries.

COLORADO SPRINGS—Pikes Peak Litho has installed a 400 watt/inch cold UV curing system on its 77˝, seven-color Harris press. It consists of both interdeck and delivery lamp assemblies. The system was purchased through PRI Technologies.

ORLANDO—Designers Press has purchased a new Komori Lithrone LS 640/C sheetfed offset press to expand production capabilities and meet increasing customer demand for full-color printing. The fully automated six-color press features computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) capabilities.
Winter Park—American Heritage Press has installed a Stahl USA B-20 folder. The new folder is being used to finish four-color brochures, flyers and handouts.

CHICAGO—Express Publication is now operating a new Standard Horizon StitchLiner, purchased from Fuller Grafix. Express Publishing produces the largest Polish magazine in the Midwest.
PEORIA—Edward Hine Co. has earned the Certificate of Compliance for the BRIDG'S Quality Compliance Program. This voluntary program is the first of its kind to bring together practical color quality assurance that focuses on all areas of the graphic arts industry.

DAVENPORT—Fidlar Printing announced it has added a six-color, 28x40˝ Heidelberg press with coater. The company is celebrating its 150th anniversary and claims to be the largest format commercial sheetfed printer in the Quad Cities.

OMAHA—Omaha Print has won the 2004 Heritage Award, which was presented recently at the 23rd annual River City Round-Up Heritage Award Luncheon.

LAS VEGAS—The Nevada Department of Transportation has certified Las Vegas Color Graphics as a woman-owned disadvantaged business as part of a federal program that helps secure equal opportunity in business. That status came after Heidi Scheffler Bridges, company president, purchased the firm from her father, Larry Scheffler.

Carlstadt—Pantone Inc. has signed the acceptance certificate for its second KBA Rapida sheetfed press. Pantone installed a six-color Rapida 72 press plus coater two years ago. It has followed this up with an order for a Rapida 105.
SADDLE BROOK—Raad Graphic Arts has added an eight-color Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S sheetfed press with tower coater to its arsenal. The Diamond 3000S replaced an existing eight-color press.
SOMERSET—To celebrate the installation of a new Xerox iGen3 digital production press Toppan Printing held an Olympic-themed open house, including a ribbon cutting by Olympic gold medal gymnast Bart Conner.

Rochester—Hammer Lithograph has installed an eight-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 with coater and CutStar roll-to-sheet feeder. The Speedmaster is Hammer Litho's first Heidelberg press and the CutStar installation is the first in the U.S. to use lightweight polypropylene in roll form, producing cut-and-stack labels at reduced cost and with less waste. Hammer Litho is the world's largest manufacturer of labels for bottled water, including Nestlé's Poland Spring brand.

CHARLOTTE—The Printing Office has changed its name to Integraphx and moved into a new 24,000-square-foot facility.

Cleveland—Consolidated Graphics Group has added a Drupa-edition six-color Speedmaster CD 102 with preset plus feeder and delivery to its fleet of equipment. Since the installation, production at the all-Heidelberg shop has reportedly increased by 25 percent.
pennsylvania
Levittown—The Bucks County Courier Times inaugurated an all-new production facility, redesigned its layout and format, and launched a new Saturday edition—all the result of installing a new MAN Roland Geoman press. Courier Times executives selected the 29 couple, five reel, double-out folder Geoman for its ability to add more color to its news and advertising positions, to improve print quality and to provide sectioning flexibility. The publisher had been producing the paper on a Goss letterpress, reaching a 67,545 weekday and 72,579 Sunday circulation.

Orangeburg—Sun Inc., a full-service commercial printer, has increased postpress production by more than 100 percent and driven greater efficiency into its bindery with the installation of a 54˝ Polar 137 cutting system from Heidelberg.
