ATLANTA—Family owned commercial printer Tucker-Castleberry Printing has added a third six-color Roland 700 press with in-line coating to its pressroom. NORCROSS—Brandon's Printing is celebrating its 20th year in business. The Atlanta-area printer employs a staff of 74.

DOWNERS GROVE—Jet Litho received several awards for outstanding achievement in product catalogs, trade books, magazines and miscellaneous specialties. The Printing Industry of Illinois and Indiana recognized Jet in the 2004 Achievements in Print Excellence Awards (AIPX). Jet received two Best of Category, one Best of Division, two Awards of Excellence and two Certificates of Merit. The company's winning submissions were the Lee Allison catalog; Safilo Sunwear; Building Michigan; Picasso: The Classical Period; Alt Pick magazine; and Guide to Duotones.

MINNEAPOLIS—KBA North America has presented Meyers Display, a $65 million, 300-employee designer and producer of point-of-purchase and promotional materials, with a hand-made replica of its new six-color, 65˝ KBA Rapida 162A sheetfed press with in-line aqueous and UV coater and an extended delivery.

CARLSTADT—Pantone Inc. has agreed to purchase a new 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 sheetfed offset press. This will be Pantone's second sheetfed press from KBA. Two years ago, Pantone installed a six-color KBA Rapida 72 with coater in its pressroom.
PEMBERTON—Tapco Inc. won the Bronze National Award at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations' annual conference for its work on Atlantic Cape Community College's 2003 Kids College brochure.

FORT BYRON—Precision Die Cutting recently installed a Kluge UniFold automatic folder/gluer. The configuration included angled buckle folder, transtable and cold glue system. The UniFold has enabled Precision Die Cutting to convert pocket folders and CD wallets.
ROCHESTER, NY—Wayne Scheible, president and CEO of Flower City Printing, accepted the 2004 Management Plus Hall of Fame award from the National Association of Printing Leadership at a recent ceremony.

COLUMBUS—A fully automated MBO Navigator folding machine has been installed at Hopkins Printing.
DAYTON—Litho Print purchased a Heidelberg Prinance workflow management system during Graph Expo and began operating it in December. The company, the fifth largest printer in the Dayton area, currently uses Prinance for customer database management, estimating jobs, quoting, order confirmation and job ticketing, and will eventually use the system to track shipping information, invoicing and inventory control.
TOLEDO—The IPC Mail-Well plant here has been designated an RPD Certified Supplier to the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories, Columbus,OH, a global supplier of pediatric and adult nutritional products.

DALLAS—Williamson Printing was called to the stage six times at the Printing and Imaging Association (PIA) Mid-America Graphic Excellence Awards gala. The "Heidelberg—Beyond Visible UV Printing" brochure won Williamson the top honor, Best of Show.
HOUSTON—Celebrating 36 years as the communication forum for the exchange of information, news and views for users of Goss newspaper press equipment, the Metro Users Group met here again recently. Hosted by The Houston Chronicle, the 2004 event was deemed a success with newspaper production employee attendance up 15 percent from 2003.

LYNCHBURG—Two Muller Martini Avanti bundling systems are working as the interface between the recently updated web pressroom of Progress Printing and the company's state-of-the-art bindery. The first Avanti at Progress Printing was installed in 2001, when the commercial printer began running the first shaftless Rotoman press in North America. The second Muller Martini Avanti was activated at the close of 2003, when Progress Printing inaugurated its second 16-page web press from MAN Roland.
RICHMOND—Cadmus Communications announced that the American Diabetes Association (ADA) has renewed, for an additional three years, its contract with Cadmus for the management of the commercial reprint program for ADA's five journals.
