BURBANK—LAgraphico, a full-service premedia and printing company that serves the film industry, recently installed a new Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74 sheetfed press to produce promotional collateral to support feature films such as "Peter Pan," "Seabiscuit" and "Cheaper by the Dozen." On February 20, LAgraphico celebrated its 25th anniversary with an open house event at its new 78,000-square-foot facility.
LONG BEACH—A new four-color Komori Lithrone 28 has been added to the press lineup at Seaside Printing. The press includes digital workflow, automatic plate changing and make-ready systems, double-size cylinders and color management tools. It also adds an in-line coater to the four-color capabilities of the company.
OXNARD—Custom Printing now provides inventory services for clients via its Inventory Annex, a 4,000-square-foot facility adjacent to the printer's production area.

WOOD DALE—Madden Communications has purchased a DocuColor iGen3 digital production press from Xerox Corp. to produce customized point-of-purchase display materials, such as signs and price cards. Madden expects its print volume on the iGen3 to be 800,000 pages per month.

WARREN—Clark Graphics, a multi-service business communications and commercial printer, has invested in a KBA 74 Karat fully digital offset press equipped with an aqueous coater. It is said to be the first direct imaging press of its kind in the state of Michigan.

JACKSON—Hederman Brothers has reportedly increased its saddle stitching productivity by 11 percent after installing a Heidelberg Stitchmaster 270. After three months of operation, Hederman Brothers has stitched more than two million books and reduced its run waste by 60 percent.
OCEAN SPRINGS—First American Printing & Direct Mail, based here, has acquired K&W Printing of Baton Rouge, LA. The purchase gives First American a total of three production facilities and includes five new sales representatives. The company is a wholly owned enterprise of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

BUFFALO—Tapecon Inc., a manufacturer of pressure-sensitive labels, decals and membrane switches, has purchased an Indigo WS-2000 digital web offset press.
ROCHESTER—Full-service binder and finisher The Riverside Group has completed installation of a Duplo 5000 tower single-sheet collating machine. The collator has four towers, each with 10 pockets. Also purchased was a new four-head, in-line spot gluing unit.
