ISLANDIA—NYLabel is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Established in 1878 as New York Label & Box Works, the company was an importer of pharmaceutical labels and boxes. Run by third generation family ownership, it now produces a full line of custom pressure-sensitive labels. An open house, cocktail party and golf outing are planned.

LEXINGTON—Green Printing & Packaging, a subsidiary of Chesapeake Corp., has earned ISO 9001:2000 certification. Green Printing & Packaging is a full-service printing and packaging supplier, employing more than 100 people in its 100,000-square-foot facility.

LORAIN—Mailroom workflow at the Lorain Morning Journal became more streamlined after the newspaper installed an Apollo compensating counter/stacker from Muller Martini. The Morning Journal is a daily newspaper published seven days a week and serving Lorain, Erie, Huron and western Cuyahoga counties, all west of Cleveland.

PORTLAND—Commercial printer Irwin-Hodson Co. has signed a deal to implement THE System business management software from CRC Information Systems. Irwin-Hodson will implement a fully integrated software solution, including THE System's finished goods inventory and automatic data collection modules.

CRANBERRY—Plastikoil of Pennsylvania has purchased a Bobst SP 104-E Autoplaten diecutter and Media 100-II A2 folder/gluer. The company also has moved into a new 45,000-square-foot facility. Plastikoil is a family owned business specializing in book binding, finishing and carton production. It employs a staff of 55, running two shifts.
MOUNT JOY—Commercial printer Engle Printing & Publishing has purchased THE System business management software from CRC Information Systems, including THE System's commercial estimating and executive notification modules. It is a third generation printer that specializes in coldset web offset printing. Engle Printing also publishes 22 weekly newspapers and handles other specialty publications.
PHILADELPHIA—Bartash Printing has purchased a new Tensor four-high tower and two additional stacked units to be added to its existing Tensor press line. The installation will result in more than 28 Tensor units at Bartash.

LINCOLN—New England Printing & Graphics has installed a six-color, 40˝ Mitsubishi Diamond 3000R perfecting press with aqueous coating tower.

GREENVILLE—Indexx Inc., a nine-year-old printing company, recently held an open house at its 22,000-square-foot facility to show off its new capabilities after purchasing over $1.2 million worth of equipment, including a six-color Heidelberg Speedmaster press with coater and prepress equipment from Creo.

IRVING—Epsilon, a full-service marketing solutions provider, has purchased a new Nipson 8000 digital production printing system. This is the first Nipson installed at Epsilon and is expected to print more than four million feet of variable direct mail documents per month. The system is a twin-engine duplex configuration.
TYLER—Knight Bindery has installed a Muller Martini AmigoPlus to produce perfect bound books.

SALT LAKE CITY—Associated Foods Stores reports it has doubled its scanning productivity with the installation of Fujifilm's Quattro flatbed scanner. The in-house printing operation previously used a Howtek drum scanner.

BELLINGTON—Lithtex Northwest reports that it recently installed a two-color Komori Sprint 28 perfector.

MADISON—Forms Pro has added a Kansa padder and Stahl folder to its bindery, based on requests by a number of its distributors.
MT. PLEASANT—Tru Line Lithographing, a member of The Garvey Group, has added a Fuji Saber VX-9600 CTP plate recorder and related equipment enhancements. Also installed was an Epson 10000 digital proofer with Oris Color tuner and related computer software upgrades.
STEVENS POINT—Book manufacturer Worzalla Publishing has received ISO 9002:1994 certification at its manufacturing plant and fulfillment facility. It plans to upgrade to the ISO 9001:2000 standard by the end of 2003.
