Hackers Access Adobe Customer Information
SAN JOSE, CA—Hackers have accessed the personal data for nearly three million Adobe Systems customers, the company's chief security officer wrote in a blog post. The attackers removed data including customer names, encrypted credit and debit card numbers, and expiration dates. The attackers also took source code for a number of Adobe products.
Adobe's Brad Arkin wrote that, at this point, he doesn't believe the thieves removed decrypted credit or debit card numbers from its systems. Adobe is notifying impacted customers and is resetting passwords to prevent unauthorized access to accounts.
The company will also notify customers whose credit or debit card information was obtained in the attack. Adobe will offer all impacted customers a complimentary one-year credit monitoring membership.
Adobe is cooperating with external partners and law enforcement officials in the investigation.
