Agfa's Apogee Suite 6.0 Makes North American Debut at IPA Conference
RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ—June 8, 2009—Agfa Graphics announced today that Apogee Suite 6.0, the newest version of the company's award-winning workflow software solution, is making its North American debut at the 2009 IPA Technical Conference. The conference is being held June 8-10 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Rosemont, IL.
Apogee Suite is the industry leader in JDF capability and connectivity. "Apogee Suite 6.0 is built upon many years of experience in prepress workflow. Printers today want a streamlined workflow that enables them to present one face to the customer and has the ability and flexibility to drive multiple output devices in offset presses, digital presses and wide-format printers. A printer's prepress workflow must provide efficiencies, increased productivity and quality enhancements and all of this is a result of effective JDF integration. Apogee Suite 6.0 provides this and more" said Deborah Hutcheson, senior marketing manager, Commercial/Wide Format, Agfa Graphics, North America. Some of the new components in the Apogee Suite 6.0 include:
• Apogee Preflight - a deeply integrated processing component that tunes the PDF. This is not by means of using a standard preflight profile, but instead by anticipating all the processing steps that are required to get to the final end product
• Apogee Portal - a new, single-dashboard user interface using Adobe Flex technology that offers ultimate interactivity and ties print buyers right into the production system
• Apogee Digital Print Link - using the enhanced Apogee DPL will allow users to drive and control digital presses, including the Canon imagePRESS digital color press family.
Apogee Suite 6.0 also includes new productivity features and enhancements in Apogee Prepress, Apogee Portal and Apogee Color. With Apogee Suite 6.0, users will be able to shorten turnaround time and simplify the production chain.
In addition to Apogee Suite 6.0 demonstrations, Agfa will be participating in the JDF Test Drive, Learning Labs, and the Proofing and JDF Roundups. Hutcheson, Agfa's Mark Gallucci, manager of Technology Marketing and Cameron Hitchcock, Color Systems technology manager, will be at the IPA Technical Conference and available to answer questions regarding the new enhancements.
