AIIM/On Demand Event Ends on a Positive Note
PHILADELPHIA—April 7, 2009—Over 20,000 technology industry professionals gathered in Philadelphia last week for the AIIM International Expo + Conference and ON DEMAND Conference & Expo — the largest convention in the city — and took the opportunity to network, attend conference sessions, hear from industry leaders and look for new products and services from more than 300 exhibiting companies. The general census from exhibitors and attendees was that the co-located events were extremely worthwhile for business. (Editors Note: Final attendance number will be available the week of April 27, 2009).
“From the On Demand Show floor we heard very positive feedback from our major exhibitors including Canon, Xerox, Konica Minolta and Oce,” said Debra Brown, Event Director for Questex Media Group, producers of the Show. “The conference sessions were well attended and the buzz throughout the four-day event was that qualified buyers were walking the show, and were buying.”
Charles Pesko from InfoTrends, who kicked off the On Demand conference sessions, put the entire event in perspective when he said, “Customers and prospects are seeking as much value as possible in a weak economy, so now is the time for service providers to communicate that their offerings can save their customers money and deliver improved business results.”
On the AIIM Expo side of the Hall, Beth Torrey, Event Director said, “The past four days exceeded our exhibitors’ expectations. Some of our major exhibitors like Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, MS Technology, Opex and Office Gemini were reporting having very successful shows, with leads from extremely qualified attendees. Our conference program — which expanded greatly this year — was well attended, and preliminary feedback on keynote, general session and conference session speakers and topics has been very positive, with lots of great buzz on the web and in the press.”
Rishi Chandra, Product Manager for Google Enterprise was the closing keynote for the AIIM Conference and in his address to a packed audience talked about collaboration in the 21st Century. In his remarks he stated, “Today’s winning enterprises will be those that empower employees around the world with the appropriate content, knowledge and collaboration solutions that will power innovation through the 21st century.
During the four-day event, On Demand attendees had this to say:
"I came to the On Demand Conference & Expo to learn more about bulk mailing and VDP and how to apply these technologies for my business. I found the event very worthwhile." Brian Helminen, President, Designotype Printers, Inc.
"The benefit of attending On Demand is to visit the collection of vendors and the ability to see solutions on the Expo hall floor. I am interested in printing capabilities and will attend next year as well to follow the market." Greg Dougherty, Consultant, SMART
