Air Motion Systems to Highlight LED UV Technology for Sheetfed Offset Printers at GRAPH EXPO 14
RIVER FALLS, WI—September 19, 2014—UV and LED industry leader Air Motion Systems | AMS is set to display an all-new generation of its market leading LED technology for sheetfed offset printers, retrofittable to nearly any press type at GRAPH EXPO 2014.
"The momentum gained by LED UV in the sheetfed offset space in less than one year has been tremendous," said Steve Metcalf, president and CEO of AMS. "We’re now dealing with a tipping point technology in LED curing, offering so many advantages to the installed base of litho machines permitting them to provide clean, digital-like ‘on demand’ output but at offset quality and price points."
The AMS exhibit at booth 870 will highlight the all-new XP7 Series LED UV system designed for sheetfed offset, which was selected as a back-to-back winner of "Must See 'Ems" technologies in the Pressroom Category for the second time in two years.
"Our LED customers could not be more excited about their systems," said Hans Ulland, vice president of Sales. "It’s literally changing businesses. The testimonials we are receiving are so rewarding, and it’s truly gratifying to see how much this technology can energize the printing industry."
In addition to a retrofittable LED UV XP7 demonstration system, a broad range of LED printed samples from a variety of techniques and machines, including inks, coatings, substrates, will be showcased, along with experts from AMS and its partners and customers who can answer questions about the "real-world" adoption of LED.
AMS is hosting a FREE Exhibitor Seminar at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30 called "Profit with LED UV in Sheetfed Offset Printing," taking place in location S404bc—on the 4th Level of the South Hall. The Seminar will allow printers to discover how LED-based dryers can transform a sheetfed offset press overnight.
By printing with LED UV, printers eliminate waiting time, spray powder, protective coatings and marking problems, and can grow press capacity by 30 percent or more while expanding into new substrates and coating and varnish effects without the drawbacks of conventional UV lamps and iron-doped mercury alternatives such as High Wavelength (HW-UV) and low energy UV systems.
The new generation of LED UV systems from AMS are constructed of 100 percent solid-state UV Light Emitting Diodes, are RoHS compliant, and are preferred over other energy curing and IR/Hot Air-based technologies because they deliver the benefits of instant drying without the heat, mercury, ozone, and frequent lamp replacements, and they reduce energy consumption anywhere from 50 to 90 percent.
The XP7 SERIES LED UV units from AMS additionally can be located anywhere on a press—from interdeck to delivery locations—allowing an expansion of job capabilities from CMYK and Patones, to opaque whites and metallics, to effect varnishes and coatings inline, and on nearly any type of material. Because of its mobility, the system can even perform double-duty on a neighboring press, a feature unique to AMS.
AMS will exhibit at Graph Expo in Booth 870 in the GREEN SPACE PAVILION at Chicago’s McCormick Place between Sept. 28-Oct. 1.
