The Allied Group Obtains United Printing

CRANSTON, RI—The Allied Group, a marketing communications and fulfillment services company, announced the acquisition of United Printing, a full-service commercial printer based in Warwick, RI. United, a family-owned and operated business led by President and CEO Raymond Amore and Vice President Barbara Caminito, has been offering sheetfed printing and mailing for close to 70 years.

“We saw an excellent opportunity to join forces with another well-known and well-respected printer,” said Robert Clement, CEO of The Allied Group. “We have a progressive attitude and approach to growing our business, which is critical to maintaining and increasing our relevance in the Rhode Island and New England marketplace. We must have the resources and manpower to provide the new technology that our clients demand. Actions like this play a large role toward accomplishing that strategic goal.”

United Printing is Allied’s sixth acquisition since 2000. With this most recent acquisition, the organization anticipates that its annual sales will top $22 million in 2012 and it will have a staff of 160 employees.

As a result of the acquisition, The Allied Group will add numerous new clients to its customer base, as well as a large percentage of the existing United Printing employees.
