American Litho Adds an HP PageWide Inkjet Web Press T490 to Fleet
American Litho, one of the nation's leading US-based direct mail and commercial printing companies, has announced its acquisition of an HP PageWide Web Press T490 - equipped with a Contiweb splicer on both ends for maximized automation. This is a powerful addition to the company’s impressive existing fleet of printers, which already includes an HP PageWide Web Press T240 and T250. The new HP PageWide Web Press T490 is a high-volume, high-quality, versatile digital inkjet printing press designed for a range of applications.
President of American Litho Mike Fontana said, “Speed and quality are the highest priorities for us as we work to meet the needs of our customers. Adding a T490 to our existing fleet of printers will allow us to increase output capacity, while at the same time delivering the high quality they expect when working with American Litho.”
As American Litho seeks to expand its variable digital business and pursue continued growth in the direct mail space, the acquisition of a PageWide Web Press T490 will allow the company to address capacity constraints to meet demand.
“Now more than ever, expediency and increasing the number of solutions available to employ for our customers to meet the challenges of today’s world is absolutely vital. This T490 allows us the expanded capabilities with 100% variability and personalization for greater consumer appeal/response that our customers are demanding," said Fontana.
Based in Carol Stream, Illinois, American Litho currently employs more than 600 people and provides print services such as direct mail, packaging, marketing materials, magazines for 2,000 of the leading (global) brands across multiple verticals including retailers, manufacturers, food producers, financial services firms, insurance companies, automotive, tech and nonprofit organizations. American Litho offers integrated print list services and digital marketing solutions (Amerilytics), operating inside a 320,000-square-foot production primary facility with additional warehousing and satellite offices.
“We know what kind of quality our competitors are running, so we look at how we can do better, and we’re confident that this (T490) addition will give us an even further edge. American Litho, Inc. will have the ability to produce more variable digital pages than any other printer in the country. We’ve also found the T490 to be easy to use and train employees on, which helps us ensure we don’t miss a beat.” Fontana concluded.
In addition to speed and quality, American Litho is constantly working to be more sustainable and to utilize printing practices that safeguard the environment, such as recycling and reducing waste. American Litho recycles, from paper and pallets to toner cartridges. In fact, they work with a mill to repurpose waste into paper again. And, with the HP PageWide Press T490, American Litho is able to expand its printing services while using true water-based ink with no reactive chemistry components.
Annette Friskopp, General Manager of HP’s PageWide Industrial Printing Global Business Unit said, “We’re so grateful for American Litho’s longstanding relationship with HP. We proudly stand behind them as they pursue new growth opportunities in the direct mail space. The HP PageWide Press T490 was designed with speed and quality in mind, and this solution will help American Litho scale its business to meet increased demand for the company’s services while providing top notch quality for customers.”
