Motheral Printing to Expand by Purchasing Sprint Press
FORT WORTH—Sept. 10, 2007—Motheral Printing has extended a letter of intent to purchase the local Sprint Press, and expects the acquisition to be final in 60 days. “We made the decision to purchase Sprint because the company’s majority owner, Bob Williams, wishes to retire and it is a good fit for our business,” said company president Jim Motheral.
Sprint Press is owned by Williams and two partners, Jeff Garrison and James Anderson. The company has been in operation for 39 years.
The purchase, which does not include Sprint Denver or Sprint MailDataTech, will enable Motheral to more than double its sheetfed press units and will add diecutting capability. The purchase will also combine Sprint Press’s 100 employees with Motheral’s 200 employees.
“There are many similarities between Motheral and Sprint so it makes sense to bring these two companies together,” Motheral said. “We believe that doing so will provide us with greater capabilities to offer to all of our customers.”
Motheral will maintain the existing Sprint Press facility at 205 North Vacek St., as well as its own 4251 Empire Rd. location, just south of DFW Airport.
