Antigro Designer Donates Sticker Builder Software to Toronto University

Antigro Designer is proud to be working in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), donating its proprietary Sticker Builder solution and enabling graphic arts students to engage with a fun, unique print application that blends digital and print technology.
Sticker Builder is an innovative, AI-powered tool designed to simplify the creation of personalized stickers, allowing users to produce high-quality custom stickers quickly and easily. This unique product supports any custom shape required, all die-cut products, and delivers perfect print-ready files with cutlines in SpotColor, streamlining the sticker production process for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
A partnership sparked
Dr Abhay Sharma, Professor in Graphic Arts at TMU, first discovered Sticker Builder at the PRINTING United Expo 2024 in Las Vegas, where he was serving as a judge for the PRINTING United Pinnacle Awards. Along with winning in the Technology category, the event marked the beginning of a collaborative relationship between Sticker Builder and TMU.
Dr Sharma comments: “When I read about the capabilities of Sticker Builder as part of Antigro Designer’s Pinnacle Award entry, I thought it was amazing. Then, when I attended the PRINTING United trade show, I saw the Sticker Builder tool in action on the Roland DGA booth, where some of the Antigro team were demonstrating the product using Roland print and cut equipment, which was very exciting! When they offered us the chance to use the tool in our class, I knew it would be an instant hit with the students, and I was right.
“I have 600 students in our graphic communications program, and they are the ideal demographic for a cool application like this that offers a great technical learning opportunity for creating a print and cut product combined with the ease of use that comes with creating the product on a phone with a very user-friendly interface. As well as being a fun practical teaching application, we offer the only graphic communications degree in Canada and stickers is a large and growing employer segment, so it ticks all the boxes.”
Dr Sharma highlights three aspects that set Sticker Builder apart from any other solution on the market:
- Automatic background removal, allowing students to focus on design without worrying about complex editing
- Smartphone app accessibility, providing ‘digital native’ students with the ability to create designs in a familiar environment
- Print and cut functionality, streamlining the process from digital creation to physical product
Continued collaboration and student engagement
Involved in the project was Lisa Dunbar, Operations Manager, Roland DGA, who comments: “Roland DGA has a longstanding relationship with TMU, and Roland equipment has been used in the graphic arts department for some time. We were very happy to see how excited the TMU students were to create their own personalized stickers, facilitated by the Sticker Builder tool from Antigro Designer and printed on Roland Print/Cut devices, and how easy it is for them to create their unique designs using their smartphones, bringing them to life in a matter of minutes.
“The collaboration is going so well that we will be hosting TMU students in the Roland DGA booth at the upcoming Graphics Canada Trade Show. Here they will use Sticker Builder to create personalized stickers for attendees, demonstrating the capabilities of this software driving Roland printers. It’s an incredible opportunity to engage the next generation of print professionals with a fun application just using their phones.”
Looking ahead
Marcin Majda, CEO of Antigro Designer, comments: “We are thrilled to see how TMU students are engaging with Sticker Builder. Their creativity and enthusiasm for the software is inspiring, and we look forward to further enhancing our partnership with TMU and supporting the future innovators of printing.”
As the partnership progresses, plans are already in motion for future demonstrations at industry events. The collaboration will not only continue to benefit students but also provide a platform to showcase the versatility of Sticker Builder in educational and professional settings.
