Appleton Coated Boosts Ethos Offset Offering with New Stocked Roll Products Including 100% PCRF

COMBINED LOCKS, Wis. — June 21, 2016 — Appleton Coated is building on the market success of its uncoated Ethos Offset line by offering stocked roll products in 100% post-consumer recovered fiber (pcrf), 30% pcrf, and virgin fiber. The Ethos Offset 100% pcrf is certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and is manufactured with Green-e Electricity — both features standard, with no upcharge.

“Our customers have asked for a mill-supported stocking position on our Ethos Offset and Appleton Coated has delivered,” says John Mazuroski, Appleton Coated’s VP for technical and specialty products. He continues, “Customers are seeing strong demand for the product, so ease-of-ordering and rapid delivery are key service touchpoints we are happy to provide. Our goal is to make sustainable papers available, affordable, and easy to order.”

Mazuroski continues, “Our customers are telling us that having stocked products in 100% pcrf, 30% pcrf, and virgin fiber for immediate delivery add value to their operations. It also allows them to pursue new market opportunities — especially for the print needs of brands and organizations focused on sustainability. All of the stocked roll products are available in the most popular sizes and basis weights for commercial printing,financial printing, publishing, government agencies, colleges, and universities.

The Ethos Offset line is manufactured to 92 (GE) brightness. 100% pcrf is available in 40-lb. through 80-lb. text weights as well a 45-lb. High Bulk text. 30% pcrf and virgin fiber are available in 27-lb. through 80-lb. text weights, as well a 45-lb. High Bulk text. All three products are available for multiple inkjet press platforms including dye-based and pigment-based inking systems. All Ethos Offset products are acid-free, enhanced elemental chlorine-free and pH neutral. Ethos Offset may be ordered with additional pcrf, as FSC certified (FSC C007796); SFI certified; PEFC certified and with Green-e certified Green Power. For all grades that carry the Green Power designation, 100% of the electricity used to manufacture these products is matched with renewable energy credits (RECs) from Green-e certified energy sources, primarily wind.
