COMBINED LOCKS, Wis. — July 28, 2016 — Appleton Coated is one of the 100 Top Partner companies recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) this week for its use of Green Power. Appleton Coated has been a Partner with the EPA Green Power Partnership since 2011 and named to the National Top 100 in 2014 and 2015. Appleton Coated’s Green Power is matched with Green-e certified Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Appleton Coated is one of only two paper mills on the list alongside other Top 100 members Apple, Pearson, Starbucks, and University of Wisconsin.

The Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program that encourages organizations to use green power as a way to reduce the environmental impacts associated with electricity use. The Partnership currently has more than 1,300 Partner organizations voluntarily using billions of kilowatt-hours of green power annually. The National Top 100 list represents the largest green power users within the Green Power Partnership. The Top Partner Rankings highlight the annual green power use of leading Green Power Partners within the United States and across individual industry sectors. Using green power helps reduce the environmental impacts of electricity use and supports the development of new renewable generation capacity nationwide.
