Folding Carton Plant Buys Jogger-Aerator
MEXICO—Offset Imprenta S.A. de C.V., a folding carton plant in Mexico City, has installed a new Woodward Model 4200 jogger-aerator. The printer decided on the machine to increase efficiency and productivity, while reducing manpower, according to Virgilio Botella, company vice president.
Pile Turner Speeds Job Turnarounds
CANADA—Gandalf Printing, based in Toronto, is now operating a new R1500 AJ Rachner pile turner with aeration and jogging, sold by Colter & Peterson. The unit helps to prepare sheets both prior to printing and afterwards in the bindery operation.
Speedmaster 74 Reaches Milestone
CZECH REPUBLIC—Heidelberg has delivered the 5,000th Speedmaster 74 press. The eight-color sheetfed offset machine went to printers Milan Milan Horak. The press is the first in this configuration here, and said to be the 84th eight-color SM 74 sold worldwide.
Lithoman Web Units Added to PMP Lineup
AUSTRALIA—The country's largest commercial printer is PMP Communications, which features three divisions: PMP Print, PMP Distribution and Griffin Press. Two 64-page MAN Roland Lithoman heatset web offset presses have joined three existing web offset presses.
Litorama Group Eyes Relocation Plans
ITALY—The Litorama Group is planning to move most of its operations into central facilities at
Centro Grafico Ricordi in Milan.
The company has undertaken a massive investment program, including purchasing a Lithoman heatset web offset press for its InPrint plant near Milan. An unusual piece of equipment is a new eight-unit Roland 700 sheetfed offset machine with roll feeder.
Equipment Lineup For Digital Printer
DENMARK—The northern town of Helsinge boasts this country's major digital printing center. Buwi Grafisk operates a Xerox DocuColor 2060 and a DocuColor 40, as well as a DocuTech 6135 and a smaller DocuTech 65. Posters are printed on an Océ machine. The company also prints offset on the latest Shinohara 520 sheetfed press, as well as on a Heidelberg GTO and an older Heidelberg, plus two Fuji presses.
