Printers Face Headaches with Fire, Auto Accident

ROGERSVILLE, TN—It was not a good week for printers, with a fire and an auto accident causing a pair of smaller shops to close their doors only weeks before Christmas.

A fire here devastated Heritage Printing, a four-man operation owned by Lewis Hughes and his son, Tony. It took four fire departments to extinguish the blaze; unfortunately, the Hughes facility suffered a total loss.

Despite being a small shop, Heritage Printing had clients across the country, including Tusculum College, Channel 11 reported. The future of the print shop is up in the air.

Meanwhile, in Penbrook, PA, Keystone Press has closed its doors for the time being after a suspected drunk driver slammed his car into the building it called home last Sunday. The commercial printing establishment is owned by 80-year-old Ken Forney, who has operated at the location since 1971.

Forney told ABC-TV 27 that insurance will cover most of the damages, and he plans to rebuild and resume printing.

"I just can't sit around," Forney told the station. "It's nice for a couple of days or a couple of weeks, but I can't take sitting around, doing nothing."
