Baldwin Technology Obtains Nordson UV Business
SHELTON, CT—Baldwin Technology, a provider of process automation technology for the printing industry, has agreed to purchase Nordson UV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nordson Corp. that provides UV curing systems used in the graphic arts. Nordson will retain its industrial UV curing product lines. Nordson UV will be renamed Baldwin UV, and will do business under the Baldwin UV, Horizon and Primarc brand names.
The deal enables Baldwin's customers to partner with a single source for both IR (infrared) drying and UV (ultraviolet) curing solutions for both offset and digital printing equipment. The Nordson UV business will bring 79 employees based at its Slough, England, headquarters operation, the Horizon Lamps manufacturing location, and sales and service operations in other locations around the world. The transaction is expected to close by June 30. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
