CHICAGO—Sept. 4, 2007—BÖWE BELL + HOWELL has a unique “live and connected” demonstration in store for attendees of GRAPH EXPO 2007. The company is partnering with leading finishing, printing, sorting and software application suppliers at the tradeshow to demonstrate the real-time interconnectivity of equipment through the BÖWE One™ software suite. Some of the vendors participating in the Connectivity Showcase include BCC Software, Buskro, Duplo USA, Eastman Kodak, Lasermax Roll Systems, MegaSpirea International, Nipson, Paragon, RISO, Rollem International, Sefas Innovations, Solimar Systems, Taneum, Window Book and Xerox Corp.
The Connectivity Showcase will be prominently featured in BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s booth – No. 600, located just inside the tradeshow floor main entrance – and will feature Web-based tracking of vendors’ equipment in real time, illustrating their open architecture and integration capabilities. This year’s GRAPH EXPO will take place Sept. 9 through Sept. 12 at McCormick Place South in Chicago.
“Live connectivity with vendors across the show floor will be very exciting for attendees who are looking for innovative solutions that are both affordable and unique to our industry,” said Mike Maselli, executive director of business management. “Our subject matter experts will be on hand to describe how we are able to connect to so many different applications and systems.”
The Connectivity Showcase will provide a live demonstration and discussion of the integration between products from different vendors, giving attendees a true representation of how the equipment might operate in a production print or mail center. It is expected to be the largest multi-vendor integration ever displayed at a print tradeshow.
Document tracking without barcodes
In addition to the Connectivity Showcase, another offering sure to be of interest to attendees is a live demonstration of an application that provides mailpiece tracking on a high-speed system without the use of barcodes or invisible ink.
Document Fingerprinting is a patent-pending application that can track documents without the use of barcodes, providing such benefits as more attractive documents, unique document information that can be fed to a system controller, database-driven inserting instructions from a centralized server, and complete customization of personalized marketing messages.
“Our experts can show you how we can improve the look of a document by removing unnecessary barcodes and still provide full mailpiece integrity for documents processed on virtually any machine from any vendor,” said Maselli.
These two demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies are complemented by additional product offerings from BÖWE BELL + HOWELL, including the latest inserting systems, vision systems and a new wide-format scanner. Additional booth space is devoted to high-speed cutters, and kiosks with information on BBH Services, sorting products, expert consultants, the BÖWE Group and more.
Senior executives will be on hand in Booth No. 600 to meet with expo attendees and the media. BÖWE BELL + HOWELL will also be highlighting its latest solutions at a press conference in the Press Briefing Room on Monday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m.
