BALTIMORE—June 21, 2012—Earlier this month, the local Believe in Tomorrow House got a mini-makeover courtesy of national signage and graphics company Signs by Tomorrow. The free exterior building wrap, valued at $3,500, was produced with materials donated by 3M Commercial Graphics.
Operated by the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, the Believe In Tomorrow House at St. Casimir provides long-term housing to pediatric bone marrow transplant patients and their families. The facility was the winner of Signs By Tomorrow’s nationwide “Imagine It…We Can WRAP it!” Facebook contest held earlier this year.
In conjunction with sponsors 3M Commercial Graphics and UASG, Signs by Tomorrow selected five finalists from more than 100 entries and then opened the voting up to the public to pick the winner. After tallying close to 1,000 votes, the “Believe in Beating Cancer” entry won. Baltimore brand marketing firm Opus Media donated design services to develop the graphic.
Much like vehicle wraps, building wraps are a high-growth advertising medium, and the latest technology allows application on diverse surfaces, including indoor and exterior walls. The Believe in Tomorrow House at St. Casimir building wrap features the non-profit’s logo and words such as “Comfort,” “Hope” and “Healing.” It is expected to last up to five years.
“We really wanted to get the word out about what Believe In Tomorrow does and what we're doing here in the community. We think the wrap is going to help us do exactly that and provide some visibility to a facility that really is not very visible within the community,” said Brian Morrison, founder and CEO of Believe In Tomorrow.
Signs by Tomorrow CEO Ray Palmer says that while the contest was originally conceived as a way to boost the company’s social media following, the end product exceeded expectations.
“The design requested by the Believe in Tomorrow House at St. Casimir was unique and really showcases the latest wrap technology, and Signs By Tomorrow is very pleased to have been able to support this effort for what is just a really good cause,” observes Palmer.
