Marketing Alliance for Digital Finishing
SANTA ANA, CA—Duplo USA announced the introduction of its DC-545HC slitter/cutter/creaser through Canon USA's Imaging Systems Group Alliance and Industry Marketing (AIM) program.
This pairing of Canon digital color printing systems and Duplo finishing equipment will provide customers in the production and commercial printing marketplace with a streamlined solution for the finishing of short-run digital color print jobs.
Duplo's DC-545HC provides complementary finishing features for documents printed on Canon imageRUNNER and CLC devices. By combining the functionality of multiple devices, the DC-545HC delivers value by reducing production time (single pass required, as opposed to multiple passes in multiple devices) and freeing up valuable floor space.
The DC-545HC is an off-line finishing solution for short runs within the on-demand digital printing market. The device slits, cuts and creases documents in a single pass, producing a wide variety of full-bleed applications.
PRINT Show Attracts Mailing, Fulfillment Exhibitors
RESTON, VA—The Graphic Arts Show Co. (GASC), producer of the upcoming international PRINT 05 & CONVERTING 05 planned for September 9-15 at Chicago's McCormick Place, announces that projected sales of exhibit space within its Mailing & Fulfillment Center pavilion will exceed the total square footage of exhibit space at the most recent national mailing exhibition.
The Mailing & Fulfillment Center originated in 2003 at Graph Expo & Converting Expo, with 33 exhibitors occupying 11,000 square feet of exhibit space, all offering mailing and mail production-related equipment, supplies and software. The Center has nearly doubled in size every year since. A full pavilion at PRINT 05 & CONVERTING 05 would be larger than the total net square footage at the entire national mailing event in 2004.
Facility Expansion Complete In Texas
HOUSTON—Seidl's Bindery has completed a 30,000-square-foot expansion of its facility. The expansion nearly doubles the footprint of the facility to 67,000 square feet. The expansion was undertaken to reorganize the company's equipment to better facilitate natural workflows and to make room for the company's third perfect binding machine, a Muller Martini Corona.
According to company President Bill Seidl, the plant expansion will result in shorter turnaround times due to less material movement and more intelligent flow of work between equipment. "We are excited at the efficiencies this expansion will provide us," Seidl remarks. "Our customers will experience shorter turnaround times for many of their projects, and our employees will spend less time and energy moving material. It is a true win-win for both Seidl's Bindery and our customers."
