Data-Mail Gives Its New Paper Cutter High Marks
NEWINGTON, CT—When it came time for Data-Mail to add another paper cutter to its finishing department, service and reliability figured into the decision to install a 45˝ Saber X15 paper cutter from distributor Colter & Peterson (C&P). The system was in operation the very same day. The Saber X15 offers a new Microcut system with 15˝ touchscreen, as well as a new hydraulic system and new cut optimization.
"We manufacture direct mail and commercial printing 24/7, so it was really encouraging that the C&P service team wanted us to use the cutter the same night after the first day of training," explains T.J. Smith, director of print services.
"They came back the next day, listened to our feedback and finished training our four-man team."
Top Honors Bestowed at BIA's 2013 Product of Excellence Awards
PITTSBURGH—The Binding Industries Association (BIA) annual competition, the Product of Excellence Awards, honors the best of the best in graphic finishing, binding, custom loose leaf and information packaging. This year, more than 200 entries from around the world were judged by a panel of industry experts. Bindtech Inc. was awarded "Graphic Finisher of the Year," and Holum and Sons Co. was named "Custom Loose Leaf/Information Packaging Company of the Year."
"I was very proud to accept this award on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Bindtech who produce the unique, high-quality products that were recognized by our group of peers," says Bindtech Vice President of Sales Dennis DeHainaut. "This is especially rewarding because of the number of excellent companies in this competition that make up our association."
