Direct Mail Shop Enhances Digital Finishing With In-Line Slitting, Scoring and Perforating System
DAYTON, OH—Dayton Mailing Services has installed a new Rollem Jetstream two-directional slitting, scoring and perforating system, that runs in-line with its HP Indigo digital press to automate the company’s print-to-finishing function.
“The Rollem system has helped with our innovative workflow, and has allowed us to free up our cutter operator. We are now able to cut, score and perf all jobs, all in-line, to better streamline and automate our production,” says Steven Roberts, vice president of operations.
Customized Finishing Solution Creates More More Digital Business
UPPER MARLBORO, MD—McArdle is now operating an Océ ColorStream 10000 Flex continuous-feed press with in-line Standard Hunkeler UW6 unwinder, CS6 rotary cutter and Standard Horizon StitchLiner 6000 digital saddlestitcher at its facility here.
The first installation to blend these Océ and Standard technologies, the new solution has been customized as a roll-to-booklet/roll-to-stack combi line. It can stack and output fully separated book blocks to a conveyor, or cut sheets can bypass to the in-line StitchLiner 6000 to deliver finished saddlestitched books.
According to Lisa Arsenault, president of McArdle, the investment has enabled the company to inspire new digital printing business for its existing clientele, and expand market reach beyond its existing customer base.

They deliver printers significant improvements in job quality, efficiency, throughput and profitability.”
