Bindery Matters
Trade Printer Chooses New Two-Station Folder for Reliability, Access to Service
ROCHESTER, NY—A new two-station, pile-fed USA B20 Stahlfolder has been installed at Ry-Gan Printing. According to Craig Schinsing, president of Ry-Gan, the new folder was an ideal choice because of its compact size and ease-of-use. "We bought another Stahlfolder for its reliability, as well as for the assurance that if a problem arises, Heidelberg service will be able to help resolve it," he says.
In addition to the Stahlfolder, the 10- employee trade shop relies on an all-Heidelberg pressroom lineup of Speedmaster SM 52 and SM 74 presses; a Prinect prepress workflow driving a Suprasetter A75 thermal platesetter; and a bindery equipped with Polar guillotine cutters.
Shop Adds Cutting System With Robotic Loading, Stacking and Auto Presetting
Indianapolis—A new Polar P.A.C.E. 137XT fully automated cutting system with robotic loading and stacking and Compucut automatic presetting, has been installed at HardingPoorman Group's recently expanded facility based here.
The system replaces two existing standalone Polar machines, and operates alongside HardingPoorman's existing Polar 115 EMC cutter. According to Steve Anzalone, COO, "the new system has taken the lion's share of our commercial print cutting work, which includes anything and everything from finish trim to posters, signatures and diecut sheets.
"It's also our first piece of postpress equipment with presetting connectivity," he adds. "We can take the cutting file directly from our prepress layout, resulting in significantly reduced makeready time."
