In-House Finishing Serves Vital Role for Modern Postcard
CARLSBAD, CA—Modern Postcard's 75,000-square-foot facility produces postcard products, as well as related items and full mailing services. Everything from start to finish is produced in-house. Seven Rollem finishing systems complete various trimming, slitting, scoring, cut-scoring and perforating duties.

Saddlestitcher Is Donated for Research/Training
SEWICKLEY, PA—Heidelberg USA has donated a Stitchmaster ST 350 saddlestitcher to Printing Industries of America for use in the organization's research and training facility here. Installation is scheduled to start this month.
The new stitcher is the latest addition to the Heidelberg equipment and software previously donated to the association. Printing Industries of America currently operates a Speedmaster SM 102 P, Printmaster QM 46, Polar 137 XT, Stahl B-26 folder and a Prinect 3.5 workflow solution.
Designed for medium-to-large editions, the ST 350 boasts speeds to 12,000 cph, product formats from 12-5⁄8x18-7⁄8˝ to 3-3⁄8x5˝, and automatic synchronization of the saddle chain with the feeders and stitcher.

SGP Partnership Comment Period Open for Postpress
LOVELAND, OH—The public comment period for the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership's Binding, Finishing and Loose Leaf (BFLL) certification criteria document is now open, and will conclude on June 19.
The document will provide a mechanism to integrate the SGP's new BFLL and its existing printer criteria into a single certification document. This will allow for certification with a single audit for both operations within a business.
