Newest Cutter Makes for a Trifecta
SPARTA, NC—Napco Inc. has replaced an aging paper cutter with a Polar 137 XT cutting system from Heidelberg, bringing the number of Polar cutters at the facility to three. The 137 XT has a deeper throat, which has sped up the firm's trimming process, and can handle stock as wide as 54˝ to 60˝. Rick Proffitt, plant engineer for the packaging and paperboard products provider, cites the unit's convenient control panel with integrated touchscreen display that permits direct selection of all program functions as just one feature that makes the machine easy to operate.
Binder Provides Instant Recall
WOBURN, MA—Offset and digital printing specialist UniGraphic Inc. has acquired an automated Standard Horizon BQ-470 four-clamp binder. The unit features an intelligent, icon-based color touchscreen for quick, easy and automated setup. It also allows for instant recall of recurring jobs from memory. "The BQ-470 gives us that competitive binding edge, with a quick-change adhesive system that lets us switch between EVA and PUR adhesives in just minutes," says Bob Quinlan, president.
