BMS Direct Selects Memjet-Powered WEBJet 200D from Konica Minolta for Transactional Work
Memjet, a leading developer of inkjet printing technology, announced BMS Direct has selected the WEBJet 200D from Konica Minolta Business Solutions, U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta). The WEBJet 200D is a continuous-feed, all-in-one solution that offers in-line cutting, perfing, slit, merge, and stack, and roll-to-roll capabilities, all manufactured by Superweb. BMS Direct will use this all-in-one printer to support the growth of its invoice and statement processing business.
Based in Lynchburg, Virginia, BMS Direct was originally founded as a direct-mail service provider. James E. LaPrade Sr., BMS, President and Chief Executive Officer, assumed management responsibility in 1998 and has since led the organization through a period of evolution. Today, BMS is a transactional billing company servicing customers on a national level. BMS provides statements, invoices, notices and other types of general information to clients from a variety of vertical markets, including municipalities, health care organizations, financial services and government.
To keep pace with that growth and effectively service its growing client base, BMS sought a new printing solution.
"The purchase of this press was a big investment for our organization, so we did our research,” said Mr. LaPrade. “We had a final list of five presses, and our team developed a list of criteria to effectively compare these presses. The criteria included such factors as cost, breakeven, maintenance, service, speed and resolution. After running the numbers and doing the comparison, we saw that the WEBJet 200D came out on top. This press delivers the speed and quality we need and enables us to achieve a positive return on our investment in just four years.”
The WEBJet 200D from Konica Minolta sets a new standard for high-speed, high-quality digital inkjet web presses. The press includes a continuous-feed, all-in-one solution to print simplex or duplex, cut, perforate, slit, merge and stack all on the same machine. The WEBJet 200D also includes integrated finishing features that can easily be integrated into the company’s workflow solution.
In addition to its robust set of features, BMS also cites service as a key factor in its choice of the WEBJet 200D.
“We have other Konica Minolta products in our organization, and we knew we could count on them to provide the support and service we need,” continued Mr. LaPrade. “We know Konica Minolta is committed to our success.”
“When Memjet announced our partnership with Konica Minolta at PRINT 18, we knew these solutions would make a positive impact on the marketplace,” said Gail Partain, vice president of business development at Memjet. “Memjet’s high print resolution of 1600 x 1375 dpi, combined with our powerful print engine, delivers the speed, quality and affordability BMS needs to advance its business.”
