Worzalla Installing Second manroland Web Offset Press
STEVENS POINT, WI—August 10, 2012—Worzalla has begun taking delivery of its second web press in as many months. The manroland Rotoman N five-color web press is expected to be operational later this fall. The first press, a manroland Lithoman five-color web, will be up and running in September.
“Our customers are beginning to bring book production back to the United States, if we can turn the work quickly,” noted Jim Fetherston CEO of the company. “Worzalla is executing a plan to be ready to meet that demand. This reinvestment in our company supports our growth and enhances our ability to respond to customers’ needs with our usual attention to quality and timely delivery.”
“Adding these two presses to our web lineup significantly increases our capacity in the multicolor 9˝ and 10-7/8˝ markets,” added Kris Koch, vice president-operations. “The two webs will support specific growth plans Worzalla has for existing customers, as well as new customers.”
Worzalla also recently has been introducing one- and four-color digital printing capabilities to its production platform, along with strengthening its finishing operations to support the investment in the pressroom. The addition of a Horauf casemaker and a Muller Martini casing-in line along with infrastructure improvements are generating efficiencies in workflow and reduced cycle time.
Employee-owned Worzalla is celebrating its 120th year in business.
