Boutwell, Owens & Co. Acquires Guynes Printing, Enhancing Its Reach in Southwestern Market

FITCHBURG, MA—April 2, 2014—Boutwell, Owens & Co., a manufacturer of printed paperboard retail and specialty packaging, has acquired the assets of Guynes Printing of Texas, and formed a new corporation, Guynes Packaging and Printing of Texas, A Boutwell Owens Co.

Boutwell, privately held since 1887, is already a nationally respected packaging manufacturer with an impressive international client base.

This move provides new capabilities and product line extensions into labels, and commercial printing services, as well as a site on the busiest border town in the United States, with direct access to the Maquiladora and central Mexican markets, which are a hotbed of manufacturing activity for U.S. Companies.

This move enhances the company's solid Massachusetts base and prepares it to compete in the Southwestern market, as well as to service a large existing customer book inside Mexico currently.

Ward McLaughlin will serve as president of the new company with Brian Jansson serving as vice president of finance and administration; William Lorenz as vice president of operations; and William Hodges as vice president of sales and marketing.
