Braintree Printing Installs Xerox iGen4 EXP with Extended Sheet Size
BRAINTREE, MA—April 25, 2012—Braintree Printing, a leading offset and digital printing company serving printers and print brokers throughout the Northeast, has upgraded its digital printing fleet with the addition of a Xerox iGen4 EXP press. The new and improved iGen4 press offers advanced printing technology such as an expanded 14.33 x 26˝ sheet size, automated Web-to-finish production, and matte dry ink that enhances photo printing.
In 2010, Braintree saw a huge jump in the number of color printing jobs it was producing each month and added a second Xerox iGen4 to meet customer demand. By now installing this new and upgraded Xerox iGen4 EXP model, customers in 2012 can diversify the type and size of high-end color printed materials they order, while Braintree Printing benefits from expanded business opportunities.
Braintree’s owner, Jim Corliss, said the iGen4 EXP’s larger sheet size is a huge plus. “This machine uses the industry’s largest sheet size and produces quality pieces like we’ve never seen before on traditional digital printing presses.”
Corliss noted that the company can now print six-panel, 8.5x11˝ tri-fold brochures. He said the Xerox iGen4 EXP is excellent for printing books and manuals, catalogs and direct mail, photo publishing and photo specialty products. The machine’s use of matte dry ink produces vibrant, lifelike images for specialty photo printing.
According to Corliss, customers can place print orders 24/7 thanks to the iGen4 EXP’s updated Web-to-finish capabilities. “Jobs move more efficiently from Web ordering to prepress to printing and finishing. It’s one streamlined process with no manual setup or stops and starts on our end,” he said.
The expanded sheet size and improved printing speed of the iGen4 EXP enables Braintree Printing to produce more jobs in less time. The press can print 40 26˝ sheets per minute, with up to 12 postcards or 48 business cards per sheet.
