At Graph Expo 16, our friends at INKISH TV, a TV-channel dedicated to the printing industry, caught up with CEO Brett Heap from Opensoft Inc., a Farheap Co., and the founder of Scissor Hands. The software also integrates with MIS and prepress systems to create and load customized cut programs for each job on demand. In terms of the animation, the company was the first on the market with this kind of software.
"Scissor Hands looks at the job that needs to be cut, figures out the best way to cut that job, and then programs the cutter," explains Heap. "And now it can run on multiple devices including slitters, diecutters, laser cutters, and of course the guillotine cutter."
