WASECA, MN—Brown Printing will eliminate about 200 jobs across its network of plants, accounting for roughly 8 percent of its workforce, according to the Business Journal of McHenry County (IL). A representative of the printer told the newspaper that the move was prompted by dwindling orders from its customers. The impacted facilities are in Waseca; Woodstock, IL; and East Greenville, PA. In other company news, Brown has been awarded a $90+ million, multi-year contract to produce the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) catalog and circular programs. The agreement builds upon an 18-year relationship between Brown and AAFES.
AAFES is a multi-channel retailer that offers products to active and retired armed forces members and their families via catalog, retail stores and online. The programs include catalogs and a weekly circular.
