The 2008 competition marks the 30th anniversary of the InterTech Awards, which were inaugurated by PIA/GATF in 1978 to promote an understanding of advanced technology in the industry. These awards have become a solid indicator of significant trends in graphic arts technology—over 80% of technologies that receive an award experience commercial success in the marketplace. Last year, thirty-one entries were received and eleven innovative technologies were recognized with an InterTech Award.
