Canon Solutions America Recognized for Inkjet Innovations at First Inkjet Summit
MELVILLE, NY—May 14, 2013—Canon Solutions America (CSA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., today announced it was voted “Company to Watch” by attendees of the inaugural Inkjet Summit 2013, which was held April 9-11 in Ponte Vedra, FL. The recognition was presented to CSA’s Production Print Solutions (PPS) team during the Awards Dinner on the final night of the event.
“This award holds special meaning because it was presented at a pivotal moment in the evolution of inkjet,” said Francis McMahon, vice president marketing, Canon Solutions America, Production Print Solutions. “I can’t imagine a greater honor than to be recognized by our peers and customers at the Inkjet Summit.”
The invitation-only event was the first of its kind, focusing solely on inkjet printing technology. Industry expert Charlie Corr led a team of top industry consultants, leaders and digital printing visionaries as they explored the future of inkjet printing through a series of keynotes, panel discussions and case studies focused on the latest inkjet trends and technologies. Other topics of discussion included appropriate paper stock for inkjet printing and preproduction workflow considerations.
Opportunities for Interaction
The interactive event brought together suppliers of inkjet solutions with qualified attendees from the transactional/transpromo, direct mail/marketing, and books/publishing segments. The goal was to help senior managers and other decision-makers understand how inkjet technology will impact their business and guide them in shaping their vision and strategy for the future. In addition to the thought leadership garnered from speakers and panel discussions, attendees enjoyed ample opportunities to meet one-on-one with inkjet manufacturers and learn about new products and technologies. Meanwhile, vendors were able to develop more intimate relationships with potential buyers who are specifically interested in inkjet printing solutions.
“As the interest in inkjet continues to grow and production quality gets better and better, print providers are recognizing there are many considerations when making investments in inkjet technology,” noted McMahon. “Events like the Inkjet Summit play a major role in fostering the kind of strategic partnerships that will enable Print Service Providers to ensure they have the right capital investment strategy and solutions necessary to profitably produce their customers’ applications.”
Strong Presence, Strong Partner
Canon Solutions America served as a keynote sponsor of the event, which presented a multitude of opportunities to demonstrate its thought leadership on inkjet technologies. The company boasted a strong presence throughout the three-day summit, with a series of interactive speaking sessions, including a keynote panelist on the opening night. Company representatives also engaged in ongoing attendee interactions, such as pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings and impromptu discussions throughout the event.
"With Océ inkjet production printing solutions making up approximately 34 percent of the worldwide inkjet market, Canon Solutions America’s sponsorship of the Inkjet Summit made perfect sense,” emphasized McMahon. “It presented us with a unique opportunity to meet with qualified decision makers who are serious about inkjet solutions. Our conversations confirmed what we had been hearing from our customers about the challenges in today’s marketplace, while at the same time, providing guidance to help them develop sound business strategies, understand their technology options, and make major investment decisions concerning inkjet printing capabilities.”
